We are seeing our next Actuarial Analyst / Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our commercial actuarial team! The role of the Actuarial Analyst / Senior Actuarial Analyst is to support our actuarial pricing transformation initiatives and work collaboratively with all partners to drive profitable growth for Aviva's commercial insurance.
Working with a proven actuarial team, our ideal candidate will use predictive analytics and pricing expertise to review pricing structures, implement changes to ratings, complete segmentation strategies, and develop positive relationships to achieve those goals.
This role will be a trusted partner to the business team members to design pricing solutions by collaborating across multiple business functions and leading discussions with different partners to ensure business objectives are aligned.

What you'll do :
Support pricing transformation initiatives across commercial insurance (Aviva Business & GCS) that align with overarching CI strategies.
Objectives include profitable growth, shifting the business mix, embedding risk-selection criteria into pricing, and enabling frontline underwriters with state-of-the-art pricing tools and fit-for-purpose design.
Support rate reviews for commercial products. Proactively monitor trends, business mix, and changes in operational practices that affect commercial insurance performance.
Optimally communicate the results of the rate reviews to all partners and get buy-in from stakeholders on rate proposals.
Help to identify key breakthroughs for projects and accurately forecast the time required to reach those milestones.
Build and review predictive models in partnership with Data Science to improve the accuracy of the pricing algorithms. Drive a balanced approach between technical considerations and business objectives to ensure maximum impact.
Demonstrate the value of predictive analytics to non-actuaries.
Build positive relationships with key stakeholders at the head office and in the field. Identify our partners' needs and tailor solutions that serve their needs and enhance value for commercial insurance.
Build regular monitoring processes. Seek improvement in existing methods and procedures to improve effectiveness and accuracy.
Be forward-thinking and adapt models and techniques tn business requirements, product, and data structure changes.
Coach junior staff and act as a technical expert and mentor for analysts.
Be actively involved in the actuarial community at Aviva.
What you'll bring :
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, or Statistics, or other related subjects
Minimum of 3 years of P&C work experience, preferably in pricing.
Minimum of 3 to 5 CAS exams
Actuarial curiosity to learn and explore new solutions
Strong teammate who is also able to work independently.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong technical skills in pricing and predictive analytics. Attention to detail.
Ability to challenge the status quo and to influence.
Strong communication skills. Ability to articulate the choice of methodology and the implications of different decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
