About The Opportunity
Working as an integral part of the Chén̓chenstway Human Resources Department, The Senior Human Resources Manager reports directly to the Director, Chén̓chenstway Human Resources and serves as a strategic partner, contributing to the overall Organizational culture and aligning with Squamish Nation values and principles, including "Wa chexw nexwníw̓en ta nexwníw̓ tl’a Sḵwx̱wú7mesh" (follow the Squamish ways of doing things).
This role oversees the daily operations of the Chén̓chenstway HR Department, including HR management, case management, program implementation, and budget monitoring, alongside employee supervision.
In collaboration with the Director, the Senior HR Manager develops strategies to advance the department's objectives within the broader strategic plan, setting goals, creating action plans, and assessing outcomes for continuous improvement.
The incumbent supports a range of HR projects and complex cases, preparing thorough investigations for Director review as needed.
This role also involves driving key HR initiatives such as benefits administration, compensation, health and safety, employee relations, performance management, and onboarding, ensuring these programs are strategically aligned with Squamish Nation principles.
Additionally, the Senior HR Manager assists in policy development and reviews, recommending updates to enhance program and service delivery.
Due to the role’s high level of human interaction, maintaining confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy is essential.

- In-depth knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and compliance standards; where prior work experience in an. Indigenous setting is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and teams.
- Analytical skills with a strategic mindset for problem-solving and decision-making.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
- Ability to incorporate Squamish / Indigenous practices in day-to-day work.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing cultural and professional development activities.

- Able to disseminate complex information to stakeholders in a meaningful way.

Salary : $ 114,179 - $ 127,880 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits program.
