Position Overview

You're a skilled leader who thrives on collaborating with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to meet the needs of the business.

Your results-driven approach drives you to take calculated risks while contributing to strategic planning and execution.

As an operations supervisor, design, you’ll be responsible for providing supervision and leadership to a team of skilled field resources to meet daily operational demands.

Reporting to the operations manager, this position focuses on managing the Distribution Projects design team and contract designers to create designs and quotes for delivery of energy to our customers within a designated geographical area or facility.

In this role, you will :

  • Provide exceptional leadership to the Distribution Design group while managing and maintaining the Distribution Design customer extension resources to ensure continuity and efficiency for the Company, including customer escalations.
  • Take the lead on selecting, orientating, and training new employees, ensuring that they have the appropriate coaching to support performance, quality of work, ongoing training, and development.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility by managing costs associated with staff, facilities, vehicles, tools, and equipment. You will review and approve invoices, third party contracts, and internal service agreements, while investigating, resolving, and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Facilitate a safe and inclusive environment for staff to meet health, safety, and emergency requirements in adherence to safe work procedures and practices including Site Safe Work Planning.

What it takes :

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from an accredited university or a diploma of engineering technology from a recognized program, plus a minimum of five years of recent and related experience within a leadership capacity.
  • Certified member in the applied science technologists and technicians of B.C. or a professional equivalent.
  • An equivalent combination of education, related training, and experience may be considered.
  • A passion for developing quality solutions with a safety-focused mindset and established knowledge of applicable regulations and standards impacting compliance of electric utility operations.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills that enable you to effectively engage staff, attend to emergencies, prioritize competing tasks, and skillfully resolve conflict.
