  • Hone your skills - this is an opportunity that allows for you to grow your technical, and functional skills.What you’ll be working onReview, edit and provide feedback on marketing and communications with respect to regulatory compliance, corporate trademark use and brandingAssess regulatory requirements, provide business units with advice and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure marketing materials and business communications are compliantIdentify opportunities to enhance the readability of marketing and business communicationsRespond to marketing compliance inquiriesManage Legal and Compliance mailbox, respond to inquiries and determine when escalation is requiredParticipate in projects as requestedParticipate in the product development process to determine marketing compliance requirementsProvide research, file management and other support to Director, ComplianceMonitor and track key regulatory and financial services policy issues and engage in opportunities to influence public policy developmentAssist with the coordination of Empire Life submissions on industry and regulatory matters;
  • document trends and information for communication with appropriate stakeholdersProvide support for company involvement in industry committees and working groupsConduct daily monitoring of the external environment to identify policy issues and opportunities for Empire Life and provide to senior management for reviewWhat we’re looking for you to have3+ years work experience in the insurance / financial services industry, preferably with distribution or marketing review experienceUnderstanding of life insurance, mutual funds and marketing, preferably with related legislative and regulatory knowledgeKnowledge of financial services and marketing / advertising industry regulations and requirements with regards to marketing compliance reviewKnowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, internet, and presentation software;

familiarity with Workfront is an assetBilingualism (English / French) is an assetFLMI and CSC designation are assetsCompletion of a college diploma with courses in marketing communications, public relations law, marketingAbility to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and to resolve matters in a professional and tactful manner.
