Headquartered in Montreal, Behaviour has more than 1, employees worldwide with studios in Toronto (Behaviour Toronto), Seattle (Midwinter Entertainment), Rotterdam (Behaviour Rotterdam) and in the UK (Behaviour UK North & South).

This role is part of our business unit working on original games. These teams focus on the creation, development, and maintenance of Behaviour-owned IPs such as Dead by Daylight and Meet Your Maker and other unannounced titles in development.

Midwinter Entertainment is a Behaviour Interactive studio. Founded as an independent game developer in , Midwinter proudly joined Behaviour Interactive in , and we are now working on our next unannounced title.

Midwinter is looking for a full-time Game Designer to join our talented team. As part of a small team, your work will directly contribute to the success of our yet-to-be-announced project.

As an experienced Game Designer, you will work in collaboration with the creative director, art, engineering, and design teams working on missions, objectives, interactive gameplay props, and bringing them all together to fit into the larger gameplay tapestry of a third-person action co-op experience.In this role you will :

  • Build compelling game elements that keep players engaged and excited about the product;
  • Search for solutions to address client and community feedback and stay on track (budget / scope / timeline);
  • Provide design vision and documentation to achieve unparalleled gameplay, controls, interface, etc.;
  • Provide time estimates, upon request;
  • Maintain high-quality gameplay that stays within the confines of the brand and IP;
  • Create and update game design documentation.

What we're looking for :

  • 3+ years of experience in the video game industry and in live ops / seasonal event design;
  • Deep understanding of unreal engine's blueprint scripting system and experience using the Gameplay Ability System of unreal ;
  • Keep abreast of current trends in gameplay and game systems with a strong interest in competitive team games;
  • Able to communicate knowledge and ideas such as : flowcharts, feature specs, and data reports to team members in French and English (the vast majority of contracts are in English);
  • Involved with production, polish and launch phases of at least two published games;
  • Experience in an established studio in the gaming industry is an asset;
  • Experience developing on multiple platforms (consoles and PC) is an asset.

Compensation : We know that salary is a big deal when you're looking for a new job, and we want to be upfront with you about what to expect.

Keep in mind that this range is an estimate and other things like your experience, qualifications, and performance can also affect the final offer.

Also please note that this range is based on Washington, and the cost of living in the area you are living in can also have an impact on the salary offered to you.

This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S.Washington base salary range : $64, - $, USD
