The Opportunity :

We are seeking an ambitious and driven Corporate Development Associate in charge of business development and external growth to join our dynamic team at Valnet.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic initiatives to expand our portfolio through mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive external growth strategies and enhance the performance and profitability of our digital media properties.

What You Will Be Doing :

  • Allocate investment budgets strategically to enhance digital publishing operations and drive growth initiatives.
  • Ability to develop an understanding of content creation and search engine optimization to lead and optimize specific initiatives effectively.
  • Evaluate website performance and competitor analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement strategic enhancements.
  • Lead and execute M&A activities developed by the Portfolio Manager, including identifying potential targets, presenting them to upper management, conducting preliminary due diligences, and integrating acquired businesses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including potential acquisition targets, industry partners, and financial advisors.
  • Evaluate market trends, competitive landscapes, and growth opportunities to inform M&A strategy and decision-making.
  • Analyze financial data, assess valuation metrics, and conduct risk assessments to evaluate potential acquisitions and partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute comprehensive business plans to achieve strategic growth objectives.
  • Prepare investment proposals, business cases, and presentations for senior management and board of directors.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment to ensure successful execution of M&A initiatives and integration efforts.
  • Stay on top of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments to maintain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

What You Need to Succeed :

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and proven leadership skills.
  • Ambitious, fast learning, and data-driven individual with a track record of success in M&A and business development.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
