HOURS OF WORK :

Please note that the hours of work are approximate and are schedules are subject to change depending on operational needs.

Any changes made to the hours of work will be done in accordance with the terms of the Collective Agreement.

Approximate # of Hours per week : 37.5

Type of Shifts : Hours of work are Monday to Friday, daytime hours and extra hours may be required on occasion to meet workload demands.

WHAT YOU’LL DO :

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, and with a strong focus on providing a professional and responsive client and stakeholder experience, the Labour Relations, Lead (LLR) is responsible for providing leadership and consultative support for all labour related activities to foster continuous improvement of professional relations, effective processes reflective of best practice, collective agreements and legislations and an optimization of stakeholder output.

The LLR acts as an ambassador for the Health Centre, representing the mandates of PRHC as directed in a variety of contentious and politically charged environments.

The LLR is a spokesperson for the employer and knowledgeably presents facts and accurate figures on a regular basis to a variety of stakeholders and constituents.

The LLR also acts as an educator and mentor to the HRBPs and HRGs in all matters relating to Labour Relations.

The LLR works as part of the HR team within the Human Resources Division to ensure the team’s work plan and the organization’s vision, mission, values and strategic directions are implemented.

Specific guidance and mentorship is extended to the HR Business Partner and HR Generalist Labour Focus roles.

The LLR consults with the Manager as appropriate on escalated and / or complex matters with the potential for broad, organization-wide impact as well as the implementation of programs and policies.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING :

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) in good standing
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working in progressively complex positions in Human Resources in a unionized environment
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working as a labour relations lead accountable for grievance management, labour management and collective bargaining.

  • Demonstrated recent experience as a generalist in a broad range of Human Resources’ practices (e.g., Recruitment & Retention, Employee & Labour Relations, Training and Development, Compensation, Organizational Effectiveness, Conflict Resolution, Issues management, Accommodations)
  • Ability to maintain appropriate, ethical and professional boundaries
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
