About the Opportunity
We are partnering with our valued client in finding a new Senior Financial Analyst to add to their team. This organization is a publicly traded, global services company.
The role works closely with both the Controller and the VP of Finance and is responsible for the financial reporting process, including gathering necessary information and analyzing financial trends.
Duties include but are not limited to :
- Prepare quarterly and annual audited financial statements, notes to the financial statements, and supporting working papers
- Support annual audits and quarterly reviews by external auditors
- Perform other tasks to support financial accounting and reporting including supplementary information for Audit Committee
- Supports the corporate finance team through a range of financial accounting and reporting projects
- Ensure financial statements issued to external parties meet applicable financial reporting requirements
- Assist in accounting research, issue resolution, and disclosure implications of significant
- transactions, including preparing technical position papers in accordance with IFRS
- Prepare and file statutory or regulatory financial related reporting
- Collaborate with various lines of business and teams to review significant account variances and gather explanations
About You
The successful candidate will have the following :
- Post-secondary qualifications resulting in a diploma or a degree in commerce or business with a focus on accounting
- CPA designation
- Open to individuals coming from Big 4 for their first industry role
- Strong (5 -7+ years) finance or accounting experience with strong focus on financial reporting
- Experience with financial modeling and forecasting
- Healthy knowledge of Canadian and U.S. GAAP and IFRS an asset
- Exposure to a SOX compliant environment with strong knowledge of internal controls
- Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Workiva (WDesk), and Power BI considered an asset
- Attention to details and accuracy, with a high ability to problem solve independently
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deliver on strict timelines
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Experience working in a team environment
About the Job
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
- Ideally targeting around $100,000 - $120,000 give or take
