We’re hiring an Injury Management Advisor to ensure compliance with Rehabilitation and Compensation requirements, enhance injury management processes, and support effective employee reintegration after injury.
This role reports to the National HSE Systems and Governance Manager, in Milton QLD looking after Return to Work profile nationally.
About the role
- Assist in the developing and improving injury management processes to support employees in returning to work post-injury.
- Maintain legal compliance, facilitate effective rehabilitation, and promote smooth transitions back to work for injured employees.
- Consultation with stakeholders to develop return to work plans in line with legislative requirements.
- Oversee all compliance documentation of each individual case in line with WorkCover Authority legislation.
- Liaise with different medical practitioners, interpret information and liaise with managers on projects to ensure return to work plans are executed correctly, and the employee’s ability to return to duties safely is maintained.
- Provide guidance and support to injured workers and medical practitioners throughout their recovery plan to ensure the medical rehabilitation of each individual's needs are met and they are able to safely return to duties.
- Liaise with insurers to achieve sustainable positive outcomes for injured workers.
- Liaise with payroll to calculate and submit wages reimbursement.
About you
- Suitably qualified health professional.
- Post-graduate qualification in occupational health management or equivalent.
- Occupational Health first aid certificates.
- 5 years’ experience working within an organisation delivering health and injury management.
- Knowledge of safety and workers compensation legislation and regulations.
- Experience in the preparation and delivery of various HSE Awareness or Training Programs.
- Actively stay up-to-date with industry trends and development in injury management practices to drive continuous improvement.
- Experience participating in workers compensation, internal accident / injury investigation and claims investigations as required.
- Ability to guide and coach Managers, Supervisors, and operational teams on aspects of injury management and performance improvement opportunities.
