Job Description
To provide services for children, adolescents and transitional aged youth with a mental illness disorder. The clinician will provide a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan and employ a range of evidenced based therapies designed to improve outcomes for clients.
This will include case conferences / consultations with treatment providers, including physicians, schools and other community organizations as deemed appropriate, to advocate on behalf of the client.
You are responsible for maintaining current information on community resources and to maintain linkages with relevant social service and other agencies.
You will be responsible for conducting / co-facilitating CBT, DBT groups for Children and Adolescents. You will provide both short and long term therapy and case management based on needs.

- Master of Social Work (child focus) required
- Must have membership in OCSWSSW.
- Minimum of 3- 5 years previous clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health with demonstrated knowledge, skill and ability in the holistic assessment, treatment and evaluation of clients required
- Strong clinical skills - assessment, counseling, and discharge planning / community integration.
- Knowledge, skills, certification in CBT,DBT and Solution Focused Therapy preferred
- Must have a strong Family Therapist background
- Knowledge and skills related to crisis intervention required
- Demonstrated previous group experience with this population
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Demonstrated ability to document according to college standards
- Demonstrated ability to function independently and be self-directed to think critically and problem solve effectively
- Working knowledge of current best practices for addictions treatment
- Demonstrated capacity to deliver culturally sensitive and appropriate patient care
- Commitment to customer service and teamwork
- Knowledge of Halton Community Resources an asset
- Excellent employment and attendance record
- Strong communication and collaborative skills.
- Knowledge of DSM as it relates to the child and adolescent population.
- Previous experience with electronic documentation preferred.

Hours : 8 : 30-4 : 30 and 1100-1900 (hours subject to change based on operational requirements)
