About Us
Our sites are located in northern Saskatchewan and are the world’s largest high-grade uranium mines. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake and formerly Rabbit Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power.
While currently in care and maintenance, Rabbit Lake remains a fully licenced uranium mining and milling operation and is subject to all the same operating conditions as producing sites.
Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.
The Role
In this role you will :
- Assist with inspections, water sampling and sample preparation
- Data entry and review
- Participate in special projects and other day-to-day activities
- Duties include a blend of field and office work, with the majority of time spent in the field.
Required :
- You are currently enrolled in a science-based post-secondary education program
- A valid class five driver’s licence is required
- Possess strong communication and computer skills
- You must be returning to school for the academic semester following your work term with Cameco.
- Cigar Lake and Rabbit Lake summer student positions are designated for Athabasca Residents in accordance with the Ya’Thi Néné collaboration agreement.

The successful candidates will work a term of approximately four months (May to August). You will work a rotational schedule commuting to the site by aircraft.
