BC Place is hiring a Global Partnerships Manager to join our team. You are an experienced partnerships (sponsorship) salesperson who thrives when identifying and prospecting new business opportunities.

Reporting to the Senior Global Partnerships Manager and supporting the Director, Global Partnerships, you will play a critical role in BC Place’s business development efforts with regards to partnerships.

The Manager is a relationship-driven professional, comfortable with focusing on the hunter role, yet capable of handling complex and nuanced discussions with clients.

ROLE SUMMARY :

Candidates must demonstrate previous sponsorship sales experience working with C-level and other executives at venues, agencies, teams, event properties and / or brands in sports and entertainment.

This includes pitch development asset and inventory packaging and valuation.

While primarily focused on driving revenue growth through enhancing existing BC Place partnerships and, most especially, developing new partnerships for the stadium, the role will also require some support within the Global Partnerships team with regards to leveraging Host City commercial opportunities for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Vancouver.

The position will be accountable to measurable partnerships objectives, including both lead development and revenue generation.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :

  • Is the primary day-to-day lead for partnership sales at BC Place partnerships sales team and works to achieve targets that align with PavCo, stadium and department goals and objectives;
  • Helps coach, mentor and inspire team members both within and outside the department to achieve results while fostering a supportive, collaborative and innovative work environment;
  • Works closely with permanent tenant clients to explore and develop cross organizational partnership opportunities to maximize revenue and fan / guest experience;
  • Helps identify underutilized and new assets and incorporates into strategy;
  • Experience building relationships and securing partnerships with brand decisionmakers located outside of BC, specifically the Toronto, Ontario region
  • In collaboration with the Partnerships team, helps to identify new BC Place partnership inventory assets where appropriate;
  • Works with other departments, including Business Development & Event Sales to maximize efficiencies and to capitalize on business opportunities;
  • Continuously seeks to educate and build expertise regarding global partnership trends;
  • Meet with client partners (tenant teams, partners, etc.) on a regular basis to collaborate on joint partnership initiatives;
  • Comfortable with a story-telling sales approach, yet thrives in a fast-paced prospecting environment in order to develop, manage and be accountable for a robust and ongoing partnerships pipeline in key partnership categories / sectors;
  • Comfortable reaching out and cold-calling prospective partners to arrange initial needs analysis meetings that form the foundation for customized partnership proposal;
  • Experienced with high level and often complicated or nuanced client negotiations, necessary to balance the needs of the client and the needs of the facility;
  • Ease and knowledge of various presentation tools (including PowerPoint) would be a necessity, while graphic design experience would be considered an asset;
  • Advises the Senior Manager and / or Director of issues that have come forward that may impact client relationships, business plans and budgets (e.
  • g. market conditions, trends and challenges, goals, actions, and deliverables;);
  • An understanding of sponsorship asset evaluation and valuation and how assets work together to create value and drive revenue as part of a holistic partnership.

WHAT YOU BRING :

  • Combined post-secondary education in marketing or business, you have a track record of 5 - 7 years’ progressive sales, ideally in sports, entertainment and event sponsorship / partnerships;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to articulate and simplify complex concepts into compelling proposals;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and reports;
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to collaborate with others from different backgrounds and cultures in an efficient and effective way, while building trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with meticulous attention to detail;
  • Very strong business acumen, with both analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience negotiating sponsorship contracts and partnerships
  • Experience managing the day to day logistics of a sponsorship partnership
  • Persistence and willingness to actively manage the relationships with both our new and existing partnerships and our internal partners at BC Place Stadium.

The salary range for this position is $ 77,968 - $97,460 .

  • Offers will be in line with PavCo’s internal pay equity and qualified candidate’s experience and education.
