As the Council’s only employee, the Senior Administrative Officer is responsible for managing the administration of the organization and ensuring that the Council has the full information to make the right decisions.
The Senior Administrative Officer (SAO) has the responsibility of exercising general control and management of municipal affairs ensuring its efficient and effective operation.
The SAO will be accountable for providing innovative vision and strategic advice to the Council to facilitate good governance of the Corporation as well as assisting the Mayor in respect of the Mayor’s duties.
Responsible for providing effective leadership to the Town’s Senior Management Team (SMT), the SOA will advance the strategic priorities and decisions of Council.
The ideal candidate will be a strong community leader with the ability to oversee the business. Strong in financial acumen, leadership, and decision-making skills, you bring the ability to mentor staff and build cohesive, supportive teams.
You will have executive experience in a corporate portfolio including extensive experience working with elected officials and general management experience in a unionized environment.
Demonstrated working knowledge of municipal, provincial, and federal statutes and regulations, as well as having experience working in an indigenous community would be an asset.
