Job Description
The incumbent will join the Legal Affairs department of Transat Inc. and will be assigned various mandates in commercial law, franchise law, litigation and regulatory law.
- Draft, revise and negotiate contracts or other types of commercial agreements, including but not limited to supply contracts, confidentiality agreements, privacy agreements, IT service agreements, purchase or sale agreements, service agreements, etc;
- Draft legal opinions based on the facts and applicable law, while ensuring proper risk management;
- Work collaboratively with other departments to provide timely and clear legal advice in line with corporate objectives;
- Provide day-to-day legal support to business units by responding to queries regarding compliance, contract interpretation;
- Advise customers on legal and regulatory requirements;Ensure contracts comply with applicable legislation;
- Participate in internal projects involving legal, contractual or privacy issues;
- Develop tools, including templates and procedures;
- Draft or revise internal policies or procedures;
- Collaborate with external legal advisors;
- Respond to requests from regulatory authorities;
Qualifications
- Member of the Barreau du Québec or of another Province;
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience;
- Autonomy and resourcefulness;
- Excellent sense of the organization and responsibility;
- Exercise good judgment and availability in emergency and unforeseen situations;
- Leadership skills and proactiveness;
- Ability to multi-task and to be versatile;
- Fluent in French and English (oral and written), Spanish (oral and written) an asset.
- Experience in licensing agreements, software and information technology an asset
