Faculty Marketing Management, Paid Media Planning and Marketing in the Attention Economy
Position Summary
BCIT’s School of Business + Media is seeking a temporary, full-time (1.0 FTE) Faculty to teach in the marketing management diploma and provide service teaching in related courses to other diplomas in the School in the areas of paid media and marketing in the attention economy.
Courses are taught on weekdays, between 8 : 30 am and 5 : 30 pm, in person and on campus in Burnaby.
Courses may include :
- MKTG 3522 Paid Media Planning and Buying
- MKTG 3010 Marketing in the Attention Economy
The hiring committee is seeking an industry expert with a passion for teaching and learning and strong commitment to ensuring students develop applied skills and specialized knowledge.
- Duties & Responsibilities Applicants should have 8+ years of experience in paid media planning and buying, including marketing communications campaigns, media selection, estimating, and buying;
- evaluating and communicating ad performance metrics; optimizing search engine marketing (Google Ads); planning and executing paid social media marketing (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and others);
monetizing web properties (e.g. Google AdSense); and working with influencers.
The right candidate will have a proven track record of strong self-direction and leadership, the ability to adapt to new working environments quickly and self-sufficiently, and a commitment to the next generation of marketers (as evidenced by mentoring or similar experience).
They will also have experience in coaching, teaching, or managing teams on projects related to marketing strategy development and execution.
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS :
- Marketing credential required; BCIT business diploma an asset.
- A minimum of 8 years’ proven success working in related roles.
- Instructional experience at a polytechnic or similar applied institution is preferred; and / or experience with professional coaching or other adult learning environments.
- An established network of relevant professional contacts in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia, and beyond.
- Excellent English-language communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a collegial environment.
