General Manager, Client Revenue Cycle

The General Manager, Client Revenue Cycle is responsible for the operational delivery and success of a large outsourcing client engagement.
The role will be responsible for continuing to transform and accelerate operational effectiveness, while creating and implementing a scalable delivery structure.
The GM must look across the revenue cycle continuum and drive efficiency opportunities through innovative partnerships, process improvements and redesign to accelerate cash, prevent revenue leakage and maintain strong AR oversight with strong controls and compliance.
The role will report into the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with other Savista operational leaders to align on company strategies.
This is a hybrid role requiring 2 - 3 on site per week. Candidates can reside in the Pacific North West of the United States.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Responsible for oversight and delivery of revenue cycle operations for a health system comprised of both hospital and physician components
- Maintain and improve revenue cycle management (RCM) documentation and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Focus on continuous process improvement, delivery of transformation initiatives and revenue & cost targets
- Develop and deepen existing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure the revenue cycle is well positioned and can deliver results
- Achieve the KPI targets for each RCM functional area through increased department effectiveness and efficiency
- Ensure the timely and accurate coding and follow-up of all patient accounts and encounters in accordance with the highest standards of billing compliance
- Oversee three to six direct reports and maintain dotted line relationships in a matrixed organization while creating an environment that allows teams to thrive
- Collaborate to establish, refresh, and develop short- and long-term objectives for Savista and the client
- Proactively work across Savista to build and share best practices / industry leading practices.
- Remain current on relevant areas of knowledge and act as a resource to revenue cycle leaders.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and requirements; stay abreast of regulatory requirements, professional standards, and competitive industry practices;
and monitor organizational initiatives to maintain service levels and work quality
- Monitor, manage and create operational metrics in conjunction with COO, CSO and CFO
- Identify issues and provide a structured and disciplined approach to defining problems and improving performance, working collaboratively with Savista leadership and client
- Use data to make system informed decisions about RCM operations, completes review and analysis of monthly KPI reports.
Demonstrates curiosity and asks questions on trends and encourages team to dig into the details to understand the root cause
Responsible for creating the annual budget for the department and managing the department within the approved budget. Partners closely with COO and Finance department to achieve budget targets
Qualifications & Requirements :
- 10 years of managerial experience in revenue cycle management
- Experience with engaging, leading and facilitating discussion with C-level executives
- BA / BS in business or related concentration
- Strong financial acumen : ability to develop budgets, forecast revenue, develop early warning signs, and adapt the organization to achieve financial targets
- Experience in managing large teams and understanding of relationship objectives with the ability to manage quality operations through metrics and SLA’s
- Strong demonstrated experience of running and managing the full revenue cycle, with specific experience within the acute and ambulatory space
- Hands on experience and knowledge across the RCM function, KPIs and understanding the correlational impact to adjacent functions
- Proven record of accomplishment of working under high volume, fast paced environment, across multiple service lines
- A strong understanding across the core segments of the healthcare industry including, but not limited to payer, provider, hospital systems, and consumer
- An ability to build a successful team by identifying, recruiting, developing, and retaining talent at all levels of the organization while maintaining a culture of open communication
- Demonstrated track record of setting standards and ability to set short- and long-term strategies through a data-driven approach
- Ability to shift between strategic thinking and operational details effectively and quickly
- Communication and facilitation skills that helps simplify complex issues to create effective communication across multiple stakeholders for timely decision making
- Ability to track and understand macro and micro financials and key performance indicators to proactively identify and quantify issues
- Makes recommendations regarding the correction of negative trends and / or problems
- Set processes and tools in place to consistently achieve monthly cash and margin goals
- Maintain a current working knowledge of all patient financial and healthcare related issues and regulations
- Experience with Epic EMR and ability to find opportunities for optimization
Note : Savista is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations.
The salary range for this role is from $130,000.00 to $180,000.00. However, specific compensation for the role will vary within the above range based on many factors including but not limited to geographic location, candidate experience, applicable certifications, and skills.
Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
