These institutions constitute the BC Post-Secondary sector. They are governed by the College & Institute Act and the University Act, respectively.

PSEA is part of a broader, centralized labour relations infrastructure that was established by the provincial government in 1993 to support government in setting a provincial bargaining mandate consistent with its fiscal goals, while providing employers with a degree of autonomy.

The Executive Director also provides leadership and direction to PSEA’s legal and learning teams.
