A local construction company currently has a great opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Estimator. You will be reporting to the Chief Estimator , you will play a key role in the Construction division.
As Senior Mechanical Estimator , you will be responsible for the estimate work of construction projects by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
You will ensure all standards and codes are implemented and you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding client expectations while continuously improving the project bottom line.
Responsibilities Supervise and provide guidance to estimating team Prepare estimates, bid submissions and project profit plans Assemble accurate and well organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner for Design-Build and Construction projects Build and maintain relationships with contractors and clients Interpret scope of works and drawings Prepare and review compliant budget and tender documents Maintain thorough records of unit rates for industry standard pricing Solicit competitive pricing from trades & suppliers and track follow up Review pricing quotes for accuracy Compile budgets for general expenses and overheads Other duties as required Skills and Qualifications 5+ years of relevant experience Proven experience in estimating mechanical projects for commercial, residential, retail clients Excellent knowledge of the BC Building Code, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing systems Familiar with QuoteSoft / Autobid or equivalent A track record in o Team management o Business (profit and loss) management o Project management (scheduling, budgeting and hand-over) o Team leadership o Stakeholder relationship management o Management reporting and strategic planning Benefits Competitive salary based on prior experience Employer covered Health and benefits Training and professional development support 3 weeks vacation Up to five days paid sick leave per year Annual profit sharing plan 4% GRSP Matching Contribution Pay : $110,000.
