The Ministry of Trade and Export Development is seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented leader as Director, Finance and Operation Services for an exciting permanent opportunity.
This position in Corporate Services Branch will focus on the financial, operational and results for the Ministry.
In this role, you will provide leadership, oversight, coaching and support to build a diverse and inclusive high-performing team who are responsible for budget, forecast, accounting, and financial services.
You will also provide leadership and oversight for our operational functions that include access and privacy, records management, legislative services, information technology, procurement, and accommodations.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate Services Branch, the successful candidate will be responsible for :
- Leading and managing a diverse team, with multiple, competing priorities in a supportive and inclusive environment;
- Building strong and collaborative relationships with clients and teams across the Ministry of Trade and Export Development;
- Leading financial services for the ministry, including providing financial and accounting advice and expertise to areas regarding government accounting policies, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and legislation;
- Leading and facilitating the development of the Ministry’s budget and managing the development, implementation, analysis and evaluation of the monthly or quarterly forecasts; and
- Leading operational services to the ministry in the areas of access and privacy, records management, legislation, information technology, ministry procurement, and accommodations.

To qualify for this exciting leadership position, the ideal candidate will have :
- A professional accounting designation with a degree in business administration, accounting or similar course of study;
- Experience and knowledge of resource management, budget and forecast processes;
- A proven track record in implementing strategic and operational initiatives;
- Strong ability ensuring employees and clients' needs come first; and
- Experience with developing partnerships with both clients and stakeholders.
