Responsabilities
- Responsible for verifying the completeness and accuracy of allocated files processed by the Pension Officers.
- Processing a designated section of files as relief for the Pension Officers.
- Provide technical direction to Pension Officers and assist in monitoring compliance and KPIs.
- Knowledgeable of the administration system as related to processing and will be a resource for problem solving for processing staff.
- Process a section of termination / retirement files which are allocated to this individual.
- Review and approve for pension calculations.
- Ensure Pension Officers meet established service targets and process files consistently.
- Update the processing manuals for both plans for Plan amendments, legislative changes, or system changes.
- Respond to escalated telephone enquiries from Participants and employers and those referred by Pension Officers.
- Make presentations to Member groups.
- Assist with training of CSR or Pension Officers when required.
Qualifications
- 3 5 years experience in defined benefit pension administration.
- Knowledge of Federal and Provincial Pension Legislation
- Knowledge of Income Tax Act and how it relates to pension administration.
- Above average Working familiarity of Microsoft Office
- CEBS or PPAC certificate is preferred.
- Above average communication skills both oral and written (English)
- French language skills would be an asset.
- Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Active listener with excellent communication skills.
- Sound judgement and critical thinking.
Compensation
- 55k 85 Base Salary (based on experience negotiable)
