JOB TITLE : Rebuild Shop Technician
LOCATION : Sudbury, ON
SCOPE
The Shop Technician is responsible for providing competent and effective support to the rebuild shop. The ability to perform work safely, meet the needs of operations, execute and comply with all safety procedures.
They must be able to run tests, isolate problems, replace faulty equipment and perform other tasks as necessary. They are also required to help train new employees and act as a mentor to our apprentices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Demonstrate working competence reading mechanical and electrical blueprints, hydraulic assembly drawings, electrical wiring harness and control system schematics
- Demonstrate root-cause problem solving to identify and perform equipment repairs
- Coach and mentor apprentices, technicians and other peers on technical procedures and applications
- Apply knowledge of machines and machine systems to perform troubleshooting of malfunctioning components and systems
- Able to perform inspection and reports on out mobile equipment
- Follow written work instructions, repair manuals, engineering drawings
- Provide input to Supervisor and team for continuous improvements
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum High School Diploma or Certificate of Completion
- Red Seal Certificate as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, or Truck and Coach
- Very strong mechanical / electrical aptitude combine with hands-on test experience working on mobile mining equipment and component diagnostics
- Experience as a mechanic and repair of mining equipment. Familiarity with our fleet of equipment preferred
- Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships with coworkers
- Experience in safe rigging practices and procedures required
- Demonstrate computer literacy and working familiarity with Microsoft Office procedures
