AtkinsRéalis has an exciting full-time career opportunity for a Senior Power System Study Engineer.

Location : Burnaby, BC or Calgary, AB.

Your role within the team :

• Define the scope and budget for power system studies mandates.
• Perform / review following Power systems studies :
• Substation grounding & lightning studies.
• Substation Bus studies
• Electromagnetic Transient Studies
• AC interference on pipelines and railway infrastructure from power lines and substation ground grids
• Cable Sizing Studies.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings.
• Must have excellent command over following Software tools : CDEGS, ETAP, WinIGS, CYMCAP, ASPEN OneLiner and PSCAD.
• Planning, scheduling, and estimation and engineering coordination with other disciplines.
• Attend design review and constructability meetings with customers and represent system studies discipline.
• Mentor Junior resources in use of power system software modeling and conducting studies.

The ideal candidate :

• Self-starter with 8+ years of experience in substation design and power system studies.
• University Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Registered PEng with EGBA or APEGA
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• SES Tech CDEGS Level II or III certification is an asset.
• Working knowledge in AutoCAD, MicroStation, PSS / E, PowerFactory DigSILENT is an asset.
• Hand on experience with soil resistivity, Ground impedance measurements, power quality measurements, is an asset

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $93,400 - $141,200 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role.
