COMPENSATION
$139,000 - $186,000 annually + a generous benefits package to include medical, dental, vision and 10% employer paid 401A through VOYA Financial.
SUMMARY
An employee of this class is responsible for implementing and developing an effective marketing strategy to attract new domestic and international airlines services.
Incumbents in this classification report directly to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. The Director of Marketing and Communications will develop proactive new marketing strategies and content focused on building and maintaining a positive perception of the ONT brand.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Important and essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following :
Implements and develops an effective marketing strategy to attract new domestic and international airline services.
Develops proactive new marketing strategies and content focused on building and maintaining a positive perception of the ONT brand.
Establishes and maintains effective high level relationships with key targets and partners to position ONT as Southern California's most desirable low cost international airport.
Nurtures close partnerships with all state and local government bodies to coordinate / maximize collective influence and activities to promote new domestic and international air services to ONT.
Works closely with local stakeholders, including the Greater Ontario California Convention Center and Visitors Bureau to jointly lobby for direct air access to ONT.
Develops airline proposals based on market research and intelligence and present robust business cases to existing cases to existing and potential new airlines.
Works to maximize cooperative marketing funds through partnership with airlines, tourism industry and relevant businesses to increase awareness and sales of airline seats.
Manages the process of monitoring airline trends and developing realistic forecast passenger numbers.
Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities for marketing and communications activities and operations.
Collaborates with team members to create dynamic communication initiatives, messages, and / or creative approaches for programs and activities.
Works with the other members of the Strategic Marketing Corporate Communications and Airline Development team to develop public relations activities and messages that support the business development potential of domestic and international flights to ONT.
Monitors traffic performance against forecast / budget and periodic refinement or review of forecasts as appropriate.
Works with tourism partners and airlines to maximize opportunities to attract cooperative funding assistance for marketing campaigns to increase emphasis on selling ONT.
Prepares complex, routine and non-routine reports as requested utilizing a variety of software; receives, sorts, and summarizes material for the preparation of reports;
prepares work reports and staff reports.
Composes correspondence in accordance with standard policies; answers various inquiries; explains policies and procedures;
processes routine and non-routine matters independently.
Leads and directs the activities of assigned staff; reviews the work plan for the division; meets with staff to identify and resolve problems;
assigns work activities and projects; monitors work flow; and reviews and evaluates work products, methods, and procedures.
Does related work as assigned.
May occasionally be assigned to other duties for training purposes or to meet technological changes or emergencies.
PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Possesses superb subject matter experience and a track record of accomplishment in all or many of the disciplines outlined previously in this job description, preferably within the aviation industry.

Familiarity with and work experience in the Southern California region is a plus.
The ability to speak, write and read in languages in addition to English is a plus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education, training, and experience that would likely provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in the position.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Policy, Psychology, Sociology or Fine Arts, or a related field
Advanced degree(s) in one or more of the disciplines listed above, or in a related discipline is a plus.
Five (5) or more years of professional experience related to corporate or government marketing and / or communications.
Previous professional experience with a commercial airport is a plus.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATION
Valid Driver's License equivalent to a California Class C driver's license.
Acceptable driving record at time of appointment and throughout employment.
Ability to pass all background / reference checks, knowledge examinations, as well as aptitude tests necessary to obtain an OIAA employee badge at ONT.
This is an at-will, exempt position. Only a valid and properly executed employment agreement may alter status as an at-will employee.
Verbal contracts are not valid. The employment relationship may be terminated at the will of either party upon notice to the other.
As an at-will employee, there would not be an established property interest in continued employment with OIAA.
