Job Description :
Langara College Continuing Studies is currently seeking an outstanding individual to instruct students in the Supply Chain and Logistics Post-Degree Diploma program during the upcoming Spring term beginning in early January 2025.
The course GBSC 1002 Marketing Skills for Managers will be scheduled at Langara College main campus (100 W 49th Ave, Vancouver, BC) for daytime, in-person teaching over 12 weeks on Friday mornings (ends in early April).
Start of teaching will be in the first week of January 2025.
Applicants with 3+ years of teaching experience in higher education, a strong professional background in Marketing Management, and proficiency in using online learning management systems (such as Brightspace by D2L) will be given preference.
The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering instruction to adult students who hold undergraduate degrees.
Prior experience in instructing adult international students, along with a demonstrated excellence in learner-centered teaching and assessment, are valuable assets for this role.
Course Preparation, delivery, and administrative duties
- Develops and / or revises curriculum in consultation with the Program Coordinator as required
- Updates the course structure, teaching methods and evaluation tools as necessary
- Instructs students using lectures, assignments, case studies, textbook materials, presentations, discussion groups and other appropriate activities
- Selects and applies appropriate resources to enhance curriculum delivery
- Delivers the curriculum in accordance with the course outline
- Maintains a comprehensive and current knowledge of assigned subject areas
- Facilitates the achievement of course learning outcomes and the educational goals of the students
- Creates an environment conducive to purposeful learning and positive interaction
- Monitors student performance and provides constructive feedback to the students throughout the duration of the learning process
- Records student attendance
- Ensures that all furniture and equipment in a classroom is returned to its original position at the end of class
- Administers the Course Evaluation Form by the students according to stated procedures
- Submits reports and records, including final grade breakdown, timesheets and attendance registers on time and in accordance with prescribed procedures
- Input final grades into Langara’s student management system within 10 business days of the final class / exam.
- Sets and models a high standard of professional behaviour and appropriate appearance
- Adheres to the Policies and Procedures of Langara College
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with administrators, peers, support staff, students and the community at large
- Participates in scheduled meetings and appropriate college-related activities as requested by the Program Coordinator.
Qualifications Required
Education & Experience
Master’s degree or MBA in Marketing or a related field from an accredited college or university at the time of application.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Applicants must be comfortable working with students of all abilities and diverse backgrounds, both in an in-person classroom setting and in online-learning delivery modalities.
- Post-secondary educational teaching or training experience of at least 3 years, including experience with course planning, implementation, learning assessment and classroom management is preferred.
- Knowledge of a learning management system, such as Brightspace by D2L or Canvas LMS, is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to instruct students from diverse cultural and language backgrounds is preferred.
- Understanding of Adult Learning Principles is preferred

Salary : Compensation range : $90-110 / hour based on qualifications and experience.
