Our Financial Services client is seeking a Senior Manager of Total Fund Performance team to provide leadership to the team responsible for developing methodologies to attribute total fund value add performance to various decision-making processes.

18 month contract to start with possible extension for an additional 6 months. Candidates local to Victoria and willing to work on-site strongly preferred but work can be done remotely.

Must Have Skills :

  • University degree or above in Finance, Economics , or other discipline with a quantitative focus
  • CFA and / or CIPM, FRM, CAIA designation
  • 7 + years progressive experience in financial services, with at least 5 years specific performance / attribution / portfolio analysis experience and 3 years’ experience in a management or supervisor role
  • Experience in multi asset class environment in investment management industry. Knowledge in modern portfolio management theories and concepts

Responsibilities :

  • Works closely with our Investment Strategy and Research group to design and develop methodologies to attribute total fund value add performance to various decision-making processes.
  • Keeps abreast of emerging concepts of total fund management and conducts research on new performance benchmarking and attribution methodologies.
  • Applies portfolio and system knowledge to synthesize information from various sources, conceptualizes and translates desired end state outcomes into actionable plans for implementation, by balancing theoretical, conceptual thinking with practical options.
  • Leads the build of complex prototype and implementation of new attribution models and reports.
  • Develops ways to systematically implement and maintain various benchmarks for attribution purposes.
  • Maintains and enhances existing reports related to total fund by tailoring reports to the specific needs of the audience.
  • Oversees incentive compensation process by providing accurate fund performance factors to HR for year end calculations.
  • Effectively communicates performance results to stakeholders with varying level of understanding of performance technicality, articulating the meaning behind numbers, and providing thought provoking insights to inform decision making.
  • Supports corporate initiatives and ad hoc requests related to total fund.
  • Cultivates cross functional relationships and strengthens inter departmental collaborations.
  • Builds and leads a high performing team to deliver on business objectives.
  • Delivers timely and accurate performance attribution and reports related to total fund.
  • Leads the team’s year end activities as related to incentive compensation and corporate reporting.
  • Breaks down high level concepts into actionable measurements to attribute returns to the sources of decisions.
  • Develops and maintains new operational procedures and control activities as related to benchmarks and total fund measurement and reporting
  • Leads initiatives / projects that is total fund related.
