Job Description :
We are looking for a Law Clerk / WSIB Claims Assistant to join our team. As a law clerk, you will perform functions that support the day-to-day operations of our business and assist our Consultants (Paralegals and Lawyers) with various tasks to meet the needs of our clients.
Responsibilities include :
- Providing support to Consultants (Paralegals and Lawyers), as needed and assigned
- Reviewing, editing and finalizing correspondence (letters, reports)
- Communicating with WSIB and clients (phone, email) to obtain information and follow-up on matters
- WSIB claims administration, as assigned, including drafting forms and letters
- Assisting in document management related to the transition to paperless work environment
- Preparing files for medical opinions (includes redaction, organizing documents, preparation of cover letters, corresponding with medical offices)
- Assist in the execution of educational / training sessions (in-person and virtual webinars) which may include assisting in preparing PowerPoint presentations, managing attendance lists, preparing handouts, troubleshooting webinar platform technology
- Billings - Issuing monthly invoices, follow-ups on overdue invoices
- Clerical (reception) duties, as required, including answering phone calls, receiving and sending mail and courier packages, editing and processing correspondence.
Qualifications / Skills :
- Undergraduate degree
- Law clerk designation and / or Paralegal license
- At least 3 years of administrative experience
- Experience with WSIB or other provincial workers’ compensation Boards an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required
To be successful in this role, you should have strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn and a team player attitude.
Previous experience in Customer Service or being in direct contact with clients is beneficial, and knowledge of workers' compensation is a plus but not required.
Salary Range : $50,000 - $68,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
