Location : Montreal, Quebec

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Controller to oversee project finances, analyze costs, manage budgets, and mitigate risks.

With over 10 years of CAPEX project cost control experience, solid technical expertise, and a passion for project execution, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and report on project costs, including budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures of suppliers.
  • Create and manage timely cost estimates in the event of changes in scope.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure that budgets are met, and change is managed with appropriate approvals.
  • Monitor and control costs associated with labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors of suppliers.
  • Evaluate and manage risks associated with project costs and provide recommendations to mitigate those risks in sr. leadership governance.
  • Develop a cashflow and report actual vs planned expenditures. Provide bi-weekly reports and visibility to the Factory Program Central PMO
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with team, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Ensures that accounting and cost control structures are appropriate for the current project phase, scope of work, and contracting strategy.
  • Establishes budgets for control accounts, purchase orders, contracts and work packages based on the detailed cost estimate.
  • Develops and provides preliminary estimates / costings Work with various cost management application platforms to support all project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Solid technical experience in all cost management areas, including estimating, pre-contract, post contract and final account.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills in English
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Passion and enthusiasm for project Execution, Construction and Commercials.
  • Circa 10+ years’ experience in CAPEX project cost control.
  • Proficient in MS suite, Power Bi or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control methodologies, tools, and systems, with experience in implementing and maintaining a Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
  • Familiarity with project budgeting, cost estimation, and cost variance analysis.
  • strong coordination, communication skills and influencing skills.
  • Commercial and contract exposures.
