Agile Coach
We are looking for a Senior Agile Coach for a 6 months contract with high possibility of extension. Role is hybrid in Downtown Ottawa for 3 days a week on site.
Position Overview :
As an Agile Coach, you will play a crucial role in the success of our new program by coaching and leading teams in a scaled Agile environment.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure Agile methodologies are understood, implemented, and adapted effectively, resulting in the timely and successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide leadership, coaching, and training to multiple Agile teams, ensuring the adoption and consistent application of Agile principles, practices, and frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
Guide the teams and the organization in Agile mindset, behaviors, and practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives to ensure the smooth functioning of Agile teams.
Support the Product Owner, Scrum Masters, and Agile teams in refining the product backlog, prioritizing work, and maintaining a healthy backlog.
Mentor Scrum Masters and Product Owners, helping them grow in their respective roles and responsibilities.
Identify and address impediments and conflicts, helping the team to problem-solve and maintain focus on sprint goals.
Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment, transparency, and effective communication across the organization.
Continuously assess the Agile maturity of the teams and organization and tailor coaching and guidance accordingly.
Act as a change agent, driving the Agile transformation and ensuring Agile values and principles are understood and adhered to.
Qualifications and Skills :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or equivalent Agile certification required. SAFe certifications (SA, SPC, RTE) would be a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in Agile software development, with at least 3 years of experience in a coaching role.
Proven experience coaching and leading multiple Agile teams in a scaled Agile environment.
Strong understanding and practical experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and mentoring skills.
Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Experience with satellite technology or similar technical domains would be an advantage.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
