Machinist
AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring experienced Machinist-Welder for an upcoming assignment in the GTA. This position will require you to work 8.
5 hour shifts, 5 -7 days per week when assigned to a project.
Please note this is a temporary contract position, so it may not be suitable to someone currently working full time
You will earn :
- $36 per hour
- $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
- Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)
- Hotel Accommodations Provided (when required)
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Produce moulds, machined / fabricated parts
- Welding and brazing as required
- Cut, drill, ream, bore, polish, deburr and grind aluminium parts.
- Tool grinding according to customized requirements
- Clean, fit, drill and assemble tools
- Assist with general maintenance and cleaning of machines
- Handle cleaning, fitting, drilling and assembling of the tools
- Build crates and pack tools for shipment
- Lift and relocate materials as required.
- Working knowledge of lock out / tag out
- Knowledge of 5S work environment
Skills & Qualifications :
- Ontario Machinist Certification
- Min 2 years experience in machine shop
- Experience with fabrication for making thermoforming mounds or similar applications
- Strong working knowledge of tooling machinery - eg. Milling Machines, Lathes
- Able to read and interpret blue prints
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, technical and communication skills
- Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
