Salary :
Classification 11, $52,086.96 - $53,697.90 annually as per BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Annual vacation (119 hours) is pro-rated, and front loaded.
We offer competitive extended health and dental benefits (eligible after 6 months of work), as well as time off for family illness, personal illness, and other special leaves.
Closure during the Christmas Break (Dec 25 - Jan 1) of each year is paid time off. Enrolment in the Municipal Pension Plan is mandatory for all regular, full-time staff with contributions matched by the Employer.

Northern Lights College (NLC) is seeking a skilled Corporate Communications Specialist to create and edit content that aligns with brand and editorial guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have experience with photography to complement written materials and possess strong interpersonal skills for collaboration within a dynamic, highly responsive team.
Under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Corporate Communications Specialist plans, creates, and implements communications for internal and external audiences using traditional and emerging platforms.
Working closely with subject matter experts and senior leaders, this position creates messaging that is timely, relevant, and transparent for internal and external audiences.
With a focus on corporate communication channels, this position oversees the vision, content, maintenance, improvements, and support of the college's public-facing websites and intranet.
Key duties include :
- Following brand guidelines to research, write, proofread, and edit compelling content for digital and print formats.
- Producing materials such as signage, presentations, brochures, newsletters, viewbooks, student handbooks, press releases, employee communications, reports, advertisements, and web content.
- Supporting strategic priorities and operational goals through effective communications.
Qualifications :
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of two years experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to write for various audiences, settings, and tones and across multiple platforms.
A keen eye for detail, grammar, and consistency. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, as well as WordPress or other content management systems, MailChimp or other email marketing platforms.
A current valid driver's license is required.
