Summary of Position :
Our client is looking for a full-time Intern Architect with 4+ years of post graduate experience in a local architecture firm.
Role Responsibilities :
- Assisting in preparation of drawing submission, building permits and other construction administration tasks
- Participate in the preparation of construction drawings and specifications
- Participate in meetings with clients, consultants and leadership
- Prepare Architectural 3D Renders for project presentations
- Participate in re-zoning applications and assist with presentations and responses to municipal design panels and councils
- Participate in the conceptual design of projects and develop preliminary plans
- Perform or coordinate space planning studies : programming documents, area calculations, code review
Qualifications :
- 4+ years of post graduate experience, local preferred
- Architecture Degree from an accredited program
- Strong Design and 3D Modelling Skills; experience with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp
- Experience in the preparation of DD & CD documentation for multifamily, mid-rise wood frame projects in BC
- Understanding of sustainable design, including LEED, BC Energy Step Code, BC Building Code and Bylaws
- Registered Intern or eligible to be registered with AIBC
- Personable with effective verbal and written communication skills
- An active interest in BIM
