Position Summary :
Reporting to the Hatchery Manager, the Production Assistant is accountable for the overall planning from egg receiving to hatching including, but not limited to egg receiving, controlling inventory levels for domestic and US egg supply, storage and allocation for inventory, production scheduling including transportation, administration and equipment assignments, oversight and appropriate allocation / scheduling for incubation equipment, and general (ongoing) analysis of flock performance for hatchability projections.
Lastly, the incumbent strives to exemplify Sofina values of Respect, Integrity and accountability while maintaining focus on continuous improvement strategies.
Key Accountabilities :
- Organize their work efficiently so all assigned duties are completed on time with the resources available.
- Responsible to plan and manage various aspects of the production process.
- Assures that Quality, HACCP, and Animal Welfare programs are respected.
- Analyze data collected for existing flocks and forecast hatchability.
- Do the Inventory Control including FIFO process.
- Responsible for live egg receiving.
- Accountable for documentation and incubation equipment assignments
Requirements :
- Familiarity with the hatchery industry and previous experience in a similar setting is preferred.
- Experience with Production planning.
- Knowledge of HACCP and GMP are essential.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control and internal auditing systems would be an asset.
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
