Travel Mangement Specialist based out of St. Thomas, ON

For the initial ramp-up phase of our North American operations we are looking for a passionate Travel Management Specialist who wants to CELLebrate in fast-paced and fast-changing environments. As part of the ramp-up team, you will work closely with the HR Team in St. Thomas, our PowerCo SE team members at Headquarters in Germany as well as colleagues from the Volkswagen Group Canada in Ajax, ON. Reporting temporarily to the Chief Human Resources Officer for VGCA, you will be responsible for determining travel policies and regularly adapting them to legal and corporate requirements and provide professional support in negotiations with service providers and travel agencies.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Provide professional support in negotiations with service providers and travel agencies
• Establish and maintain relationships with preferred partners for travel services, ensuring high-quality service delivery
• Responsible for determining travel policies and regularly adapting them to local, legal and corporate requirements.
• Provide professional support in optimizing the procurement process for all travel services, including consolidating demand
• Oversee and control travel expenses at a higher level in alignment with travel policy guidelines.
• Conduct quality controls and generate reports on processes and workflows, highlighting necessary improvements.
• Foster an employee-oriented approach to travel management, addressing inquiries and providing professional assistance to enhance overall employee experience.
