Join CLBC as the new Regional Director, Vancouver Island for our Service Delivery & Innovation Division

About the Opportunity :

Reporting to the Vice President of Service Delivery and Innovation, CLBC's Regional Directors are accountable for community planning and development, as well as service monitoring and service quality with respect to the delivery of all CLBC-funded services and supports in their region. Each Regional Director ensures that all CLBC-led initiatives and processes in their region adhere to CLBC policies and procedures as well as fosters responsive and innovative support to CLBC-eligible individuals.

CLBC's Regional Directors build the foundation and set the tone for CLBC's service area managers, service delivery managers and service delivery staff to support sustainable and mutually accountable partnerships and relationships with the individuals we serve, their families, service providers, disability-interest organizations, and other sectors that provide supports and services to CLBC-eligible people such as health, mental health, housing, employment, and Indigenous agencies.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage service delivery operations across the region, ensuring alignment with CLBC's strategic plan, corporate work plan, policies, and service standards consistent with CLBC's legislative and regulatory accountabilities.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with CLBC-approved service providers, CLBC-eligible people and their families, and external partners to deliver inclusive and innovative services
  • Provide leadership that supports high-quality and evidence-based service delivery and fosters a collaborative environment that positions CLBC as a respected community partner
  • Oversee the region's operational budget, ensuring sound and publicly accountable financial decisions
  • Represent CLBC's Vancouver Island region in organizational forums, community engagement, partnership development, and issues management
  • As a member of CLBC's Regional Operations Leadership Team and its Senior Management Team, contribute to policy development, consistent policy application, and service quality improvements

Eligibility :

Candidates must have :

  • A post-secondary degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience) such as public administration, social sciences, social work, education, or business
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience with increasing responsibility, including managing teams and overseeing service delivery
  • 5+ years of experience in the community living sector, government, or broader social services sector, including significant experience working with a broad spectrum of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to develop, lead, and manage high-performing teams, fostering collaboration and motivating team members toward shared goals
  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, external service providers, vulnerable individuals and their families, government departments and programs, and external advocates and special interests
  • Understanding and knowledge of relevant provincial legislation, the history of the community inclusion movement, with experience applying this knowledge to ensure compliance and improve services
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence, including skills in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and empathy
  • Strong political acumen
  • Experience managing budgets and making evidence-based financial decisions
  • Availability to travel regularly and maintain a consistent presence across the Vancouver Island region
  • Hybrid work Combines on-site office work with the flexibility to work from home within BC .

    Travel : Regular travel throughout the region is required. This position is expected to have a regular presence in the Victoria office, as well as in Nanaimo, Comox, and Campbell River.
