Job Description
PROJECT OVERVIEW
- Project Background : Prior to 2020, virtual technology was being used in the Courts to connect with correctional institutions or remand centers, vulnerable victims, witnesses, and those unable to travel to the court locations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for virtual court proceedings has increased immensely resulting in the Province establishing new Alberta King's Bench Jury Court operations throughout Alberta. This involved renting new facilities, securing and furnishing them, and establishing the information technology and audio-visual services using a standard form of Webex, Microsoft M365 Teams, and other software applications to enable Alberta King's Bench jury trials to safely resume during the pandemic. Court users include members of the judiciary and court staff, Ministry of Justice and Solicitor General staff, police service members, legal professionals, and members of the public who may be located anywhere in or outside of Alberta.
- Project Structure : The Province requires a qualified Contractor to provide network support services in nine (9) Alberta locations. The volume of work is highly variable and unpredictable. Due to the nature of court schedules, there may be times when jury trials are canceled or added last minute but notification will be provided to the Contractor at least one Business Day prior to the anticipated start date of the trial. Weekend Work may be required on the rare occasion however most work will occur during Business Days. Services may also be required in multiple locations simultaneously, therefore Vendors must propose a team of resources to perform the Services. On average, it is estimated that the Contractor may be required to provide network support services or to deal with issues as they occur once or twice per month. These estimates are provided for information only, as there is no guarantee of any volume of work for the successful Contractor. The Province will provide the Contractor with Pre-Purchased Equipment necessary to support delivering the Services of this RFQ.
The resources proposed will be responsible for leading and assuming day-to-day planning, management, and control of the service work, including the selection of methodologies, techniques, and tools which are appropriate and will be accountable for ensuring the successful completion of the work on time, within budget and to specified quality standards.
For each network technician resource proposed, the submission should include the following information :
