Kindergarten Teacher 2024-2025The Nelson Waldorf School is currently seeking applications for a Kindergarten teacher. The position is available for the 2024–2025 school year, with the contract beginning in August 2024. The Nelson Waldorf School Kindergarten program is a fully rounded play centered program dedicated to the appropriate activities commensurate with Rudolf Steiner’s picture of the developing child between the ages of five and six years old. The Class teacher should have a passion for Waldorf education and should inspire the love of learning in children. Key qualities are strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. With the responsibility of carrying a class of up to 24 students, the successful candidate will have excellent class management and organizational skills. The Kindergarten class teacher is supported by a teaching assistant. The responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following : Deliver the Kindergarten Curriculum integrating BC Ministry requirements and Waldorf curriculum Report on students according to Faculty agreements and BC Ministry requirements Abide by BC Independent School teacher conduct and competence standards Lead class parent conferences Reports to : Principal of School Terms of Employment : Permanent, full-time; $53,508.50 to $72,771.56 plus benefits (health, disability, life insurance and tuition) and increments for related experience.
