Job Description
The House of Commons Digital Service and Real Property is currently looking to staff the IT Support Specialist position.
As an IT Support Specialist, you are responsible for maintaining the seamless operation of computer systems, laptops, and equipment within the Parliament Precinct Network. Your primary duties will encompass providing Information Technology support and troubleshooting services to Parliamentary Precinct users, which include Members of the House of Commons, House Officers, House of Commons Administration, Library of Parliament, PWGSC Translation Bureau, and more. You will prioritize tickets from the Incident Management Tracking System Receive and resolve technical issues involving hardware, software, and databases, responding promptly within established service level agreements in person onsite visits, over the phone, by email. Additionally, your role involves analyzing, troubleshooting, and offering consultation services when incidents occur, along with recommending appropriate courses of action. You will work collaboratively within a team environment on various projects and coordinate with service providers for warranty and non-warranty item repairs and replacements.
The House of Commons standard technical environment includes Windows 7 and 10, Microsoft Office 2010, 2019, and 365, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, Apple & Android devices utilizing Intune, as well as remote management tools like SCCM, SMS, and Active Directory Group policies.
The business requirement for this role is working from the office five days a week.
