From our office in Downtown Toronto, we’ve created leading eCommerce experiences in the online grocery shopping, beauty, pharmacy, and apparel spaces, and we’re only just getting started.

Why is this role important?

As the Director of Strategic Partnerships, you will own and execute the strategy for managing Loblaw Digital’s marketplace and delivery partners and evaluating potential technology innovations in the market. You will actively manage relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders, and be a thought leader and key contributor to determine how partners and technology solutions can either accelerate our roadmap and / or add a new capability that enhances the customer experience for the millions of Canadians we serve. Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Partnerships, you will bring a passion for having a finger on the pulse of the latest market and technology trends, and a demonstrated talent for bringing new partnership opportunities to life through cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and project execution.

What you'll do

Shape and drive the vision for how Strategic Partnerships (existing and new) can create meaningful value for Loblaws and our millions of customers nationwide

Stay on top of market and technology trends, bring a strong network with external partners in the ecomm / grocery / pharmacy / apparel spaces, and be a key liaison between external companies and Loblaw Digital stakeholders

Identify and meet with prospective strategic partners

Be a thought partner to business leaders to help create presentations to communicate the business rationale for a new partnership and / or update the business on the status with an existing partner

Help evaluate, drive decisions on, and launch new partnerships from idea to POC, including developing business cases, detailed financial models, and project plans

Offer exceptional cross-functional stakeholder management and influencing to ensure all partnerships are managed effectively and efficiently

Lead negotiations with existing and potential partners to maximize the success of a partnership and benefit to Loblaws

Manage ongoing relationships with established partners, while tracking the progress, impact, and key learnings from these partnerships

Contribute to a positive work environment that promotes exemplary service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork

Does this sound like you?

7-10 years of work experience in a directly relevant field with demonstrated cross-functional project leadership experience

5+ years experience leading a high-impact team and proven dedication to mentoring others’ growth

Strong experience negotiating and contracting effectively

Exceptional ability to independently lead strategic decision making and project execution, from critical thinking, to leveraging data to support a hypothesis, and leading prioritization to deliver to business and stakeholder needs

Demonstrated strength in managing and executing multiple high-priority, complex, high-visibility projects to deliver proven value

Strong strategy skillset - able to lead financial analysis, modeling, storytelling and presentation building, and build financial business cases to provide recommendations and highlight financial implications

Able to build and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Stellar communication skills, both written and oral, and confidence in presenting ideas with impact to senior leaders

Comfort operating in ambiguous and fast-paced environments, and flexing between high-level strategic thinking and detail-oriented timely project management

Strong understanding of and constant curiosity about changes in the e-commerce industry and current technology trends, with experience in driving change within the grocery and pharmacy ecomm space a strong plus

Experience owning and delivering on a budget, especially in a digital / SaaS environment

Consulting or MBA background a plus
