This role involves remote / work from home with a requirement for a minimum of two (2) days per week working onsite and may be subject to change as the organization works through its hybrid workforce plan and / or changing needs of the Foundation. The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world’s leading research centres in its field. CAMH Foundation is charged with raising and stewarding funds in support of CAMH. Its role is to help transform the way we understand and address mental illness by raising awareness and increasing engagement across the country. The Corporate & Community Partnerships team is responsible for engaging corporate Canada and community groups in a meaningful way that results in long-term and sustainable partnerships that help the Foundation reach its fundraising, awareness, and impact goals. THE OPPORTUNITY :

The Director, Corporate Partnerships, is responsible for leading CAMH Foundation’s corporate partnerships strategy and fundraising activities to grow revenue and engagement from corporate partners, their employees and stakeholders. As a senior member of the Corporate & Community Partnerships team, the Director will lead a team and play a leadership role in the planning and delivery of the Corporate & Community Partnerships team’s operational plans in support of CAMH Foundation’s strategic direction and goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

FUNDRAISING ACTIVITY

  • Be accountable for the Corporate Partnerships team’s annual fundraising performance and goals, including annual fundraising production, revenue, retention and acquisition goals.
  • Be accountable for an individual pipeline of corporate partners and prospects, including annual fundraising production, revenue, retention and acquisition goals.
  • Support the Chief Partnerships Officer and President & CEO with the advancement of their corporate donors and prospects.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive cultivation, engagement and activation strategies for CAMH Foundation’s top corporate partners and prospects.
  • Manage, activate and support senior volunteers related to Foundation Board, Campaign and fundraising committees
  • Identify and ensure cross-selling opportunities from all audiences and for all fundraising tactics across CAMH Foundation.

FUNDRAISING STRATEGY & OPERATIONS

  • Work as a senior member of Corporate & Community Partnerships team, critically involved in developing and implementing the team’s fundraising plans in support of CAMH Foundation’s strategic direction and goals.
  • Develop and implement the Corporate Partnerships team’s fundraising plans, which includes support from corporations, their foundations, employees and customers.
  • Lead strategy for key fundraising tactics like sponsorship of signature events, employee giving, cause marketing and custom proposals
  • Be responsible for fundraising of assigned fundraising tactics including strategic oversight, planning and resourcing, fundraising production and revenue, supporter retention and acquisition, volunteer engagement, and expenses.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to maximize revenue and engagement in line with CAMH Foundation’s strategic direction and goals.
  • PEOPLE LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

  • Consistently model CAMH Foundation’s values, contributing to a positive culture and successful relationships with key stakeholders including CAMH, volunteers, donors, and prospects.
  • Serve as an active and engaged member of CAMH Foundation’s senior leadership team to contribute to a high-performing team and achievement of Foundation-wide goals.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the Corporate Partnerships team to ensure its members are highly motivated, performing to expectation, and appropriately skilled.
  • Clearly communicate expectations and performance metrics to four direct reports, and hold regular check-ins to support progress toward annual goals.
  • Set, measure progress, and contribute to the achievement of Corporate Partnerships team strategy and revenue goals.
  • Support the Chief Partnerships Officer and President & CEO with the management of senior volunteers.
  • Work in partnership with CAMH executive leaders, staff, clinicians, and researchers to support the advancement of top corporate partners and prospects.
  • Represent the Corporate & Community Partnerships team on various CAMH Foundation working groups.
  • Undertake relevant training to remain at the forefront of industry standards and be the subject matter expert within the Foundation for Corporate Partnerships.
  • Contribute to in-house training to build CAMH Foundation staff knowledge of corporate partnerships.
  • Develop collaborative and effective working relationships with colleagues across the organization including Marketing and Donor Experience, Finance & Operations (including Prospect Research), and Philanthropy.
  • Commit to ongoing, active learning in fundraising, leadership, and equity, diversity, and inclusion best practices.
  • DATA, REPORTING & ADMINISTRATION

  • Work with the Specialist, Partner Operations to regularly and proactively report on progress towards individual, team, and fundraising tactic goals and assess KPI data to inform decision-making and recommendations to improve team performance.
  • Work with the Director, Finance to manage program budgets, report performance and variances and work with the Chief Partnerships Officer to forecast, reforecast and conduct contingency planning.
  • Keep abreast of relevant legislation, emerging trends and best practices, and work with the Chief Partnerships Officer and Specialist, Partner Operations to develop the necessary internal policies, procedures and guidelines accordingly.
  • Ensure all fundraising tactics, plans, and activities are developed and implemented to the highest standard and in such ways as to protect and enhance the organization’s reputation with internal and external stakeholders.
  • GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build productive working relationships with external stakeholders including senior volunteers and members of the hospital (CAMH) to maintain and enhance their commitment to the organization.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and development and participate in any training relevant to the role.
  • Performs cross-functional and other duties as assigned and / or requested.
  • Minimum Requirements

  • A post-secondary degree in a relevant field, and a minimum of 10 years of senior fundraising / sales experience preferably in a large, complex not-for-profit organization such as a hospital or university or a combination of education and experience that is deemed equivalent.
  • Fundraising qualification an asset (e.g., CFRE, ACFRE)
  • Proven people leadership experience and coaching of volunteers, preferably in the non-profit sector or similar industry / role
  • Track record of securing six and seven-digit corporate gifts with evidence of strong negotiating skills
  • Proven people leadership in complex and matrixed structures, including the successful coaching of staff teams and community volunteers
  • Significant experience creating and managing annual plans including the preparation, monitoring and reporting of budgets, targets and associated qualitative information
  • Track-record of developing creative and successful fundraising tactics
  • Proven track record of achieving fundraising targets within tight deadlines
  • Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously and ability to manage a wide range of tasks
  • Successful fundraising project management experience working collaboratively across teams
  • Experience using Raiser’s Edge or an equivalent fundraising database
  • Strong fundraising skills, especially focused on complex corporate partnerships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally
  • Excellent relationship building, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and work efficiently
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Charitable sector, including fundraising best practices and new emerging trends
  • Has a growth mindset, self motivated and dedicated team player
  • Commitment and desire to making a difference, especially in the mental health community
  • Flexibility and willingness to develop and expand role
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including attending corporate events in the evenings

    Salary Range :   $129,429 to $160,195 annually
