Job Summary
The Community Worker collaborates closely with community members, partner organizations, and programs within our service areas. They are responsible for planning and facilitating programs aimed at developing leadership skills and encouraging volunteerism and civic engagement. Strong in-person facilitation skills are essential for this role.
Program Description :
The Brotherhood program supports and empowers male-identifying youth through mentoring, educational, and recreational activities. It hosts weekly youth meetings and mentoring activities for male-identifying students and young men. The role also involves supporting other youth programs as needed. The ideal candidate is male-identifying with experience in youth services, education, recreation, or outreach, and possesses strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, teamwork skills, and enthusiasm. Ability to work effectively with diverse youth from different backgrounds is required. Some travel to program sites and evening / weekend shifts may be necessary.

Community Development and Outreach :
- Conduct outreach activities to community members, identifying needs and interests aligned with the Centre’s Strategic Plan.
- Respect and incorporate the diversity of communities and individuals, promoting health and social determinants of health.
- Establish and maintain linkages with community resources.
- Provide practical assistance and referrals to clients as appropriate.
- Create a supportive environment to help community members address barriers.
- Foster community engagement and capacity-building.
- Develop and maintain community partnerships in collaboration with supervisors.
- Promote and inform the community about relevant programs and services.
- Implement conflict prevention strategies, including de-escalation and crisis response, with supervisor support and training.
