Live Event Streaming Technician

The Live Event Streaming Technician is responsible for all live streaming functions in the Studios & Broadcast Services department under the direction of the Lead Videographer and Events Team Manager. They manage the video and audio signals to and from live streaming devices and computers and monitor the stream throughout the production. They use their knowledge of live streaming protocols, codecs, encoding hardware and software and connections to data networks, and the internet to ensure a stable and quality stream. When not involved in streaming, the Live Event Streaming Technician works with the broadcast and video production teams on other projects.
Required Educational Qualifications
- High school diploma and three years of experience or a combination of post‑high‑school education and experience equal to three years.
Responsibilities
Film events, interviews, or promotional videos with attention to framing, lighting, and sound quality.Identify and correct audio and video quality issues to ensure client satisfaction.Proven experience in photography and videography with a strong portfolio demonstrating technical skill and creativity.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite : Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, etc.Troubleshoot and problem‑solve using necessary approaches.Advanced understanding of mixing audio and managing audio level for a broadcast.Strong understanding of filming gear and equipment knowledge.Ability to lead, execute and deliver in a fast‑paced environment.Troubleshoot technology issues and production problems logically, calmly and efficiently.Help direct camera operators and optimize the broadcast picture in a variety of settings.Implement graphics overlays on a broadcast.Communicate key information with Sales teams, General Managers, other technicians, camera operators and supporting team members.Understand and respond to client concerns and issues with video streams.Skills and Abilities
Intermediate proficiency with streaming software (e.g., OBS).Familiarity with video‑conferencing software (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).Ability to set up and run portable live streaming equipment.Excellent eye for detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.Technically minded with an ability to learn quickly.Motivation to improve processes, reliability, and efficiency of systems related to streaming.Flexibility to work evenings and occasionally on weekends.Maintains focus with a keen eye for detail.Works well in a high‑functioning team environment and remains calm under pressure.Proficient in Adobe Premiere, Audition, After Effects, Photoshop.Knowledge of color‑management principles and color theory to produce visually appealing images and videos.Good communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.Knowledge of live‑streaming protocols and how to configure and set them up.Outgoing personality capable of guiding a group of employees during shoots and handling strong personalities.Basic knowledge of using closed captions / open captions in live streaming.Knowledge of hardware encoders.Knowledge of integration and streaming to social media.Basic AI curiosity welcomed; stays updated on current trends in photography, videography, editing techniques to continuously improve content quality.For more information, please visit us at www.amico.com.
