Job Description

Our client, Evergreen Commercial Cleaning , is a dynamic organization that specializes in daily and weekly janitorial services and office cleaning.

Our client would like to add an experienced Outside Sales (Business Development) Manager to their leadership team. As the successful candidate, you have a strong background in commercial janitorial cleaning or a related service industry.

You are well-versed in developing customized proposals and have proven expertise in responding to government RFPs and crafting tailored proposals for private sector businesses.

In this role, you will rely on your extensive business development experience to drive growth by identifying new opportunities and building strategic partnerships.

Core responsibilities include researching market trends, analyzing competitors, and developing revenue-boosting strategies.

You will lead contract negotiations and work closely with internal teams to ensure business objectives are met.

This role places a strong emphasis on meeting and exceeding sales targets, making it an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual eager to contribute to the company’s ongoing success and competitive edge.

Relocation is required if you don’t currently live within commuting distance of the Okanagan Valley, BC.

Additional responsibilities will include :

  • Develop customized proposals in response to government RFPs and create tailored proposals for private sector businesses.
  • Attend client meetings to understand their needs, offer tailored solutions, estimate or quote prices, credit terms, and delivery dates;
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of service or other contracts and consult with clients post-sale to resolve issues and provide continuous support;
  • Establish and maintain rapport with potential business leads, arrange meetings, and promptly provide Head Office with contact details to facilitate successful contract negotiations;
  • Manage service agreements and price increase activities;
  • Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives, identify and develop new market opportunities, and implement strategies to enhance sales performance;
  • Conduct research on organizations and individuals to uncover new business opportunities and generate leads;
  • Monitor and execute new business opportunities on various bid sites;
  • Enhance the value of existing customers while simultaneously attracting and converting new clients through regular prospecting and sales activities;
  • Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally; provide accurate advice on the company's products and services;
  • Foster and develop relationships with key customer accounts, ensuring ongoing client service coordination and support;
  • Mentor and develop other sales associates;
  • Create, manage, and deliver detailed business development reports to track and improve sales, revenue, and market expansion efforts;
  • Promote and contribute to a positive company culture at every opportunity.

Requirements :

  • Extensive experience in outside sales in commercial janitorial cleaning or a related service industry is required;
  • Tech savvy with extensive experience using MS Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook) and a CRM program required. Experience with ZoomInfo or PipeDrive is considered an asset;
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities;
  • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic;
  • Excellent networking and interpersonal relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect and build relationships with various individuals inside and outside the organization;
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment;
  • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to put together proposals and contracts accurately;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential to this role as well as the ability to manage telephone calls and inquiries;
  • A drive to achieve sales targets and expand the company’s presence in Western Canada;
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to attend client businesses throughout the Kootenays, Okanagan (North, Central, South), lower mainland, Vancouver Island, Prince George and other areas required;
  • This position may require occasional evening or weekend work.

This full-time position is based in Kelowna, BC, and offers an excellent total compensation package, including growth opportunities and a flexible hybrid work environment.

We anticipate offering a base salary of $60,000 to $70,000, with total annual compensation, including commissions and / or a performance bonus, ranging from $90,000 to $150,000.
