- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations affecting import, export and transportation of goods by conducting research via internet, global trade data, and other internal / external resources and through consultation withernment agencies as necessary topile information.
- Establish and maintainpliance standards by developing policies, procedures and reference materials related to each discipline (import, export and transportation) in each FTNC location.
Professional standards will be maintained by ensuring all staff is informed of changes on a timely basis.
- Provide guidance to FTNC associates when dealing with difficult questions of regulations and policy with regard toernment agency requirements.
- Deliver in-house training at multiple levels of the organization for all regions with respect to regulatorypliance and related issues or changes.
- Represents the Canada Customspliance and Regulatory department on cross-functionalmittees or projects as necessary to assist with the implementation of new Regulatory initiatives and establish new or refine existing procedures.
- Participate / assist in the development of externalmunication (trade bulletins / trade lines)
- Assist Manager, Customspliance and Regulatory Affairs in development of department Procedures

- Monitor departments’ daily flow, quality of work produced and responsibilities. Refer current issues and potential problems to Manager
- Assist Manager, Customspliance and Regulatory Affairs with creation and development of department procedures.
- Establish and maintainpliance standards by developing policies, procedures and reference materials related to each discipline (import, export and transportation) in each FTNC location.
Assist with themunication of professional standards to all staff.
- Identify major regulatory or procedural changes
- Maintain a program of periodic visits to FTNC offices to audit records and ensurepliance with the laws and regulations involving import and export and transportation of goods.
When nopliance is found.
Work with the Customs Specialist and / or Analyst on Customs Tradepliance random verification audits or other audits.
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma
- A CCS and / or CTCS designation are required
- CIFFA designation would be an asset
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding and Distribution industry with 5 years’ experience in a Customs and Regulatorypliance position
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Outlook
- Ability to work under pressure, exercise good time management skills, detail-oriented
- Excellentmunication, customer service, organization and inter-personal skills
