Working in long-term care is more than just a job; it is a calling for many of us.The Opportunity : The Program Support Services Manager is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of programs that provide a variety of meaningful activities to meet the physical, psychological, social, emotional and / or spiritual needs of residents.What Is In It For You :
- Supports Resident Documentation Requirements including Resident Assessment / Re-assessment, Care Planning, MDS Coding, and Progress Notes.
- Supports resident and family councils.
- Maintains a calendar of recreational & social activities that support the interests, needs and cultural diversity of residents.
- Coordinates / facilitates recreation programs, special events, outings & entertainment.
- Coordinates the Volunteer Program including student and co-op placements.
- Coordinates religious and spiritual program opportunities.
- Responds to resident or family member concerns and ensures appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority and / or brings to the attention of the Administrator.What You Will Need
- A post-secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field such as Kinesiology or Gerontology and related experience specific to providing recreation and leisure services in a healthcare setting, preferably with seniors.
- Provincial certification for safe food handling.
- Certificate in Volunteer Management is preferred.
