Project Coordinator based out of St. Thomas, ON
Our mission has started. Volkswagen Group’s largest cell factory in St. Thomas will carry out all battery activities from processing raw materials to developing a unified Volkswagen battery to managing the European and North American gigafactories.

Reporting to the Project Management Lead, the Project Coordinator will play a key role in the successful preparation, implementation, and support of our ramp up program that includes heavy focus on the operational alignment to SAP at the PowerCo SE Gigafactory in St.
Thomas, as well as the development and documentation of processes aligned with our risk management, governance, and compliance requirements.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Work through the process management lifecycle including researching, working with key business and team stakeholders to design, document, and store into our system of choice.
- Partner with project manager to create and maintain process workflow documents to support business needs under the guidance of the project management team.
- Using formal processes and tools (JIRA, Confluence, Office ) to manage resources, tasks, and changes.
- Collaborate with the team to develop, maintain, and manage assigned work packages, action item registers, and milestone timelines.
- Partner with team to manage project work packages and information, and communicating them through formal briefings, project update meetings, and / or written or electronic reports.
- Assist with the management of the end-to-end process of all assigned work packages, ensuring on-time delivery, and meeting project timeline demands.
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders for project status.
- Address problems through risk management and contingency planning and presenting solutions and / or alternatives.
- Conduct quality control in project work packages throughout their life cycles to ensure all standards are adhered to maintain high-level knowledge of projects’ life cycle.
- Provide daily project updates to the Project Management Lead
- Collaborate with other PMO Team members to benefit from cross-functional project synergies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or as they might pertain to the position.
Qualifications
Qualifications :
- Post secondary education in Business, Technology or related fields, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 1-2 years of relevant project management experience
- Exceptional ability to communicate through hierarchy levels using an intuitive understanding of a global and dynamic work environment.
- Able to operate cross-functionally (vertically and horizontally) in a results-oriented, fast paced and fluid environment.
- Able to multi-task and to determine and shift priorities.
- Strong analytical / strategic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent MS PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and PMO software skills
- Occasional travel within Ontario, as well as internationally ( 10%)
- Able to maintain flexible work hours to account for time zone differences with Europe, and the ability to work overtime on occasion to meet ramp-up deadlines.
Desired Skills :
- German language skills
- Knowledge of Google Analytics or similar
- PMP Certification or other Project Management designation
