The Opportunity :
WSP is currently seeking an Environmental Remediation Project Coordinator to join our national Remediation Program Management (RPM) team.
This is the opportunity to join a diverse and growing team within WSP supporting our key clients in coordinating the risk and closure of contaminated sites in Ontario.
You will be supporting our project managers and key clients in the design and oversight of field work related to monitoring, investigating, and remediating contaminated sites impacted by hydrocarbons and the preparation of technical reports.

Why Remediation Program Management?
WSP's RPM team is one of the most established and exciting teams in Canada. The team consists of environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, technical experts, and qualified professionals.
We have been providing contaminated site program management services to the worlds most technically focused companies for over 15 years.
We consistently have backlog of 9 to 12 months and provide growth opportunities for our high performing team members. We specialize in health and safety, Phase I / II ESAs, risk assessment and remediation.
Our team takes on the biggest Canadian projects from coast to coast to coast. The projects range in type, size and complexity, and the successful candidate will be able to utilize the team strengths to manage a large amount of field work efficiently and effectively.
A typical day in the life as a WSP Project Coordinator :
- Create a safe and positive environment for colleagues
- Demonstrate a non-wavering commitment to health and safety.
- Work closely with the project managers to :
- Prepare health and safety plans and emergency response plans.
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates.
- Schedule field staff and subcontractors.
- Compile data for reports.
- Write reports including preparing conclusions and recommendations.
- Conduct occasional field work including soil, groundwater, surface water and vapour investigations, monitoring programs and overseeing site remediation.
- Train junior staff in environmental practices including Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation etc.
- Train staff on site specific health and safety.
- Collaborate across the national RPM team and WSP.
- Inspire team commitment to our Company Guiding Principles and Vision.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to technicians.
- Formulate a personal career development plan with specific goals to achieve your career aspirations.
What you'll bring to WSP :
- A university degree or above in environmental science, engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in contaminated site assessment, soil and groundwater sampling.
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience in an engineering consulting environment.
- An analytical mind; someone who is able to make recommendations on the next steps for client sites.
- Willingness to grow your career within the RPM team.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams and with multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation is preferred.
