Health & Safety Supervisor, Tunnel

The Health & Safety Supervisor leads safety for OTG projects by driving a strong safety-first culture. Youll support with developing and enforcing health and safety policies oversee training programs and ensure compliance with regulations. You will collaborate with teams and contractors to maintain the highest safety standards and foster continuous improvement across all operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strong leadership in safety setting clear expectations and promoting a culture of safety-first throughout the organization.
• Develop implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Oversee safety training programs conduct safety orientations and provide ongoing education to employees and contractors.
• Lead investigations of safety incidents accidents and near-misses identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections ensuring that safety standards and protocols are consistently followed.
• Maintain accurate safety records and prepare reports for management highlighting key safety metrics and trends.
• Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and standards ensuring that OTG remains in compliance.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans including evacuation procedures and first-aid protocols.
• Collaborate with the safety committee to address safety concerns gather feedback and drive continuous improvement.
• Evaluate and oversee the safety performance of subcontractors and suppliers holding them to OTGs safety standards.
• Foster a strong safety culture by promoting safety awareness engaging employees and recognizing safety achievements.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or a related field; a relevant professional certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in health and safety management preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry.
• Strong knowledge of local health and safety regulations codes and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage teams at all levels.
• Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proven experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Ability to develop and deliver safety training programs.
• Commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
