Senior Fund Accountant

Senior Fund Accountant:
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Senior Fund Accountant for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid work model with primarily remote work but requires onsite presence during certain periods, such as tax season at our client’s Toronto office.

Senior Fund Accountant - Job Description:
The primary responsibility of this position is to complete the independent validation of information through established requirements, including analytical analysis. This role involves preparing financial statement reporting and taxation responsibilities while ensuring compliance with Company and Regulatory requirements.

Senior Fund Accountant - Responsibilities:
• Review financial statements to ensure timely and accurate preparation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Review and file T3 and T2 Returns in compliance with the Income Tax Act of Canada.
• Analyze the accounting and tax impact of complex corporate actions affecting funds.
• Calculate and analyze income and capital gains distributions for various funds.
• Calculate and analyze tax factor calculations for T3 unitholder filings.

Senior Fund Accountant - Mandatory Skills:
• Extensive comprehension of relevant Canadian legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Extensive investment fund accounting experience.
• 3-5 years experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements for investment funds.
• 3-5 years experience in preparing and analyzing investment fund distributions and tax returns.
• Fundamental knowledge of IFRS, Canadian Income Tax, and regulations related to investment funds.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and related accounting software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking.

Senior Fund Accountant – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Previous experience with TaxPrep.
• Accounting designation in progress or obtained.
• CIFC certification.
• CSC certification.

Senior Fund Accountant – Assignment Length:
This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of extension or conversion to full-time employment.
