Overview
Elevator Mechanic apprentice. This position reports to the Branch Supervisor and the Construction Supervisor. The placement offers sponsorship into the official Lift Mechanic apprenticeship which requires area work and schooling.
Responsibilities
- Stand for Delta Lift's core values of honesty, service and quality in interactions with internal personnel, external customers and vendors.
- Adhere to Delta Elevator policies and procedures, the Employee Manual, and Health & Safety guidelines.
- Assist elevator technicians / forewoman in all elements of lift setup :
- Equip building vehicles.
- Unload deliveries.
- Set up parts.
- Install rails, settings, controllers, equipment, pumping units, and cabs.
- Run conduit.
- Inspect mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Relocate test weights.
- Paint as required.
- Participate in bi-weekly Area Procedures meetings.
- Occasionally work at any Delta Branch location as needed.
- Attend company-sponsored evening school sessions.
- Other responsibilities as designated.
Credentials & Skills
Post-secondary education or experience in electrical / electronics.Knowledge of construction practices and the use of construction / hand tools.Ability to perform heavy lifting.Ability to work in teams as well as independently.Self-motivation.Experience operating at heights.Valid driver’s license.Job Details
