About The Opportunity

Working as an integral part of the Ayás Mén̓men Early Years & Youth Services Department, this position reports directly to the Manager, Family Centre, Early Intervention / Family Programs.

The Aboriginal Supported Child Development (ASCD) Consultant provides family-centered services, early intervention, child development support, family support and individual planning for children aged 0-19 with developmental delays or disabilities (physical, cognitive, communicative and / or social / emotional / behavioral).

The incumbent works collaboratively with community childcare programs and other child development professionals, within the early intervention team.

  • Team-oriented with a positive, approachable attitude.
  • Working knowledge of trauma-informed, family-centered, and inclusive practice.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use a cultural safety framework when working with Indigenous children, families, and communities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain supportive, collaborative relationships with families, childcare setting staff, child development professionals, and colleagues.

Salary : $ 67,365 - $ 75,358 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits program.
